The Role
As a Learning & Development Lead on the People team, you will establish the foundation for learning culture and capabilities to support Mistral AI’s growth. As the first hire in this area, your work will directly define processes, infrastructure, and strategy for continuous skill development across the organization. You’ll collaborate closely with teams in France, the USA, the UK, Germany, and Singapore to build programs that align with business goals and employee progression. Your efforts will ensure that our workforce is equipped with the skills needed for evolving business needs, making learning an integral part of everyday work.
What You Will Do
Develop and deliver a learning and development strategy aligned to company objectives
Assess and prioritize skill gaps to inform training initiatives
Design and implement onboarding, upskilling, and reskilling programs
Build scalable learning paths for key roles and career growth
Source and curate external content and partnerships to supplement internal offerings
Collaborate with leaders to identify high-potential employees and development plans
Select, configure, and roll out a Learning Management System, ensuring adoption and alignment with HR and IT systems
Set up metrics and regularly measure L&D impact on organizational performance
What We're Looking For
At least 8 years of HR experience, with significant time in tech start-ups or high-growth companies
Proven ability to build and manage L&D functions across multiple countries
Strong background in implementing and managing Learning Management Systems
Experience designing training programs for various teams and roles
Knowledge of instructional design and adult learning theory
Excellent communication, influence, and stakeholder management skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset
Ability to adapt, work without clear structure, and turn strategy into action
