We are looking for a Design Technology Manager to lead a team of Design Technologists focused on generative AI tools, creative workflows, and technical innovation for éShop.
This is not a traditional design production role. The team develops new ways to create content and customer experiences through AI-powered workflows, content generation tools, multi-model systems, quality gates, agent integrations, APIs, and connections with existing production platforms.
The manager will establish the structure, priorities, and operating mechanisms that allow the team to own work from concept through production. They will lead people, manage commitments, remove barriers, negotiate priorities, and guide technical decisions across usability, scalability, integration, governance, and operational readiness.
Key job responsibilities
1. Lead and develop a team of Design Technologists focused on AI tools, creative workflows, automation, and backend innovation.
2. Set priorities, manage capacity, and allocate resources across short-term delivery and long-term strategic goals.
3. Enable end-to-end ownership by removing blockers and creating structures for independent team delivery.
4. Partner with creative, product, engineering, science, operations, and platform teams to turn business needs into scalable solutions.
5. Manage scope, commitments, escalations, and technical tradeoffs across usability, quality, scalability, governance, and production readiness.
6. Establish clear workflows, service level agreements, operating mechanisms, and best practices.
7. Ensure tools integrate with existing systems and have plans for adoption, maintenance, measurement, and improvement.
8. Drive data-informed decisions by making customer outcomes, quality, and operational performance measurable and auditable.
9. Coach team members, support career growth, manage performance transparently, and build an inclusive and autonomous team culture.
10. Simplify processes, improve operational metrics, and ensure the team’s work receives clear visibility and recognition.
A day in the life
You will partner closely with the éShop Innovation Lead to set priorities and translate creative and operational needs into practical AI tools and workflows.
Your day may include leading stand-ups, planning sprints, reviewing team capacity, removing blockers, and helping the team resolve technical or delivery tradeoffs. You will assess internal and external requests, manage stakeholders, share project updates, and align resources against the most important priorities.
You will also coach the team, review work in progress, and help ideas move from early concepts and prototypes into scalable, production-ready solutions. A key part of the role is ensuring existing tools and workflows remain reliable, secure, measurable, and easy to maintain. You will monitor performance, address defects, improve adoption, and plan ongoing updates so solutions continue to meet customer and business needs.
